James Dunn is always a treat. And this one was a pretty good story line. I first saw him in a Shirley Temple movie and have loved him ever since!

Not too bad.
This was kind of fun and a good chance to see the streets of Los Angeles in 1940. A nice role for Miss Rita La Roy, her final credited screen appearance.

Specializing in chasing their own tails.. I enjoyed this one. Good acting and pretty darn good plot.

Some Mild Fun
Stolen jewels, repo men, gangsters, cops, a movie star, and coincidence are the stuff that make up this dizzy comedy. If you like James Dunn (The Living Ghost, Shadows Over Shanghai), you'll like this. He's playing himself, as usual. Some may remember him as the father in the 1945 production of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. The supporting cast includes good character actors, including Francis Gifford (American Empire), Dave O'Brien (Phantom of 42nd Street), and Guy Usher (Doomed to Die), and give good performances.
I downloaded the 699MB MPEG4 file. Aside from some missing frames that affect dialog, and hiss throughout in the audio, this is a good copy.
